AI app connections

Connect an available PageLantern plugin to read monitoring data, locations, graphs and saved client report summaries with explicit workspace permissions.

Last updated October 22, 2026

How do I connect and manage access?

Start the account connection from the PageLantern plugin in your AI app. Sign in to PageLantern, check the displayed account and workspace, then review each requested permission before choosing Allow access. This connects an existing PageLantern account; it is not Sign in with ChatGPT for PageLantern.

Manage or disconnect existing connections in Integrations → API & automation. Existing monitor-only connections do not gain report access when the plugin updates. To use report tools, reconnect and approve the separate report permission. Your monitors keep running after you disconnect.

What can I ask about monitors and locations?

Ask for the monitors in your workspace, one monitor’s latest recorded status, recent checks or its 24-hour observed success percentage. You can also list selectable monitoring locations and compare retained results by requested and actual location. Reading this data does not run a new check.

Ask “Show the response-time graph for this monitor over the last 24 hours” or request an availability graph. The tool returns a PNG and up to 120 time buckets for primary-location checks. The AI app controls how it displays the image. Gaps and unknown results stay unknown; success percentages describe recorded checks, not continuous uptime. History retention and result caps can limit the period shown. PageSpeed performance reports use a separate workflow.

How do client reports work in the plugin?

With report read permission, ask for client report packs, a pack’s saved editions or the recorded metrics from one edition. Reports reflect the frozen snapshot captured when that edition was generated. Members and viewers can read approved editions only. Expired or ungenerated editions have no readable metrics.

Report links open the signed-in PageLantern report page. The plugin does not download PDFs, generate, approve or email reports. Report notes, recipients, delivery settings and branding files are excluded from tool output. Creating and delivering report packs remains in Reports → Client reports and follows the workspace plan and role limits.

Which actions and data sharing require permission?

Read permissions cover monitoring data and, separately, saved report summaries. Additional action permissions allow an owner or admin to run an eligible HTTP GET/HEAD uptime monitor, create an HTTP uptime monitor, or pause and resume monitoring. Runs and creation may consume normal usage and send configured alerts. The plugin cannot delete monitors, change billing or manage credentials.

Requested tool outputs are shared with OpenAI when you use the connection. Target URLs omit query strings and embedded credentials; response bodies and configured secrets are excluded. Your current workspace role still applies, including after a role change. Disconnecting stops future access but does not erase earlier AI conversations.
