Make a weekly monitoring review part of your routine

Weekly fleet digests are now the default for workspaces without a saved preference, bringing monitoring results into one email while keeping cadence and recipient under your control.

Make room for the quieter signals

Immediate alerts tell you when something needs attention. A regular review answers a different question: what has been happening across the services you monitor? A recurring failure or a slow endpoint can deserve follow-up even after the urgent incident has ended.

PageLantern’s fleet digest combines monitoring results into one email. Weekly delivery is now the default for workspaces that have not saved a digest preference, making that review easier to establish without another setup task. The digest itself remains configurable.

Read the summary, then follow the evidence

The email brings together monitor status, check counts, success rates, failures, average response times, and the latest available reading for each included monitor. Weekly digests summarize a seven-day period; daily digests use a one-day period.

Use it to choose a small number of follow-ups. For example, investigate a monitor with repeated failures, or check whether a slower response needs a different latency threshold. A success rate is a summary of observed checks, so use the monitor’s detailed history when you need to understand individual failures and their timing.

Set the recipient and cadence that suit you

Open Fleet digest to review Digest recipient and Digest cadence. Choose Daily, Weekly, or Off, then use Save fleet digest. The page also shows the last and next scheduled digest, making it easier to confirm how the summary fits into your routine.

New defaults use the workspace owner’s email address and schedule the first digest seven days after provisioning. An existing saved preference is preserved, including Off. The default therefore does not reset a cadence you already chose or turn an explicitly disabled digest back on.

Pair the digest with a useful next action

Give the review a simple outcome: identify one monitor to investigate, one alert to tune, or one service to discuss with its owner. If someone else handles that work, choose an appropriate recipient and make the handoff part of your team’s routine.

A digest complements incident alerts; it is not a substitute for routing urgent failures to a channel your team watches. Use the weekly review to notice patterns and choose follow-up work, while keeping urgent response in the incident workflow.
